From September 18 to 21, top landscape artists from around the country will flock to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon to capture its awe-inspiring views in plein air. Among the artists who will be attending this year’s Grand Canyon Celebration of Artinclude John Cogan, Elizabeth Black, Dawn Sutherland, Richard Graymountain, Matagi Sorenson, Priscilla Tacheney, Steve Atkinson, Kathryn Stedham, Bill Cramer and more.

John D. Cogan, When Shadows Grow Long, acrylic on canvas, 24 x 40 in.
“As an Arizona artist, the Grand Canyon is a deep well of inspiration that I return to again and again. I’ve spent countless hours painting this beautiful place,” says participating artist Linda Glover Gooch, who paints panoramic landscapes. “I’m most looking forward to being back on the rim this fall, immersed in the landscape I love. I will make multiple trips to the canyon during the run of the event, over several months. There’s something powerful about painting on location in a place that means so much to me. It’s a joy to share that connection in paint and invite others to see the canyon through my eyes.”
Artist Michelle Condrat says, “The Celebration of Artalso means a reunion with fellow friends, artists and art enthusiasts from around the country who share the same passion and love for the Grand Canyon, and I can’t wait to be surrounded by the energy and inspiration that comes with this amazing event.”

Elizabeth Black, Across the River from Paradise, oil on canvas, 24 x 48 in.
The exhibition and sale will open to the public on Sunday, September 21, at historic Kolb Studio and will remain on view through April 26, 2026, both online and at the studio. A ticketed collectors’ reception, where attendees can meet the artists and acquire unique pieces, will take place at Kolb Studio on Saturday, September 20, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. In addition, artist demonstrations will be held throughout the weekend, as well as an artist quickdraw on September 21, from 10 a.m. to noon.
